Catania, Schachenmayr's 100% mercerised cotton yarn, has a wonderfully soft feel, is lightweight and features a gorgeous sheen. Thanks to the breathable quality of cotton, this yarn is ideally suited for knitting and crocheting stylish clothing and accessories, but of course it is also ideal to make baby and toddler toys and amigurumi. Catania is certified in accordance with the OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 label, product class 1, meaning that it is free from harmful chemicals and safe for human use (including newborn babies). In addition, the solid colours have the EN 71-3 quality mark, which indicates that the yarn is suitable for making toys, according to the European safety standard. The yarn is made from 100% mercerised cotton and is washable up to 40°C. The recommended needle size is 2.50-3.50mm (gauge tension: 26 stitches x 36 rows = 10 x 10cm).
